Chapter - 3 : What Are Emotions Called?

To make life rational, it is essential to understand emotions. It is very difficult for a person's life to remain unaffected by emotions. Emotions are also known as feelings.
There are three means of developing consciousness- meditation, love and devotion. It is not that Osho has only explained the principles for the development of truth, love and consciousness, but he also explained in detail the experiments necessary for the development of consciousness. Even after thirty-five years of Osho, one sentence can be heard from the mouth of people that today peoples' feelings have become impure in the age of materialism. Osho had started working on Bhaav-Shuddhi seventy years ago. Along with other people, I also started Osho's Bhaav-Shuddhi experiments and its miraculous results came out.
First of all, we have to understand what emotions and feelings are. Emotions mean thoughts arising from within a human being. Different experiences and reactions arising in a person's mind are called emotions. Such as happiness, sadness, anger, love, fear etc. Emotions reveal one's partly mental, partly physical reactions. Emotions are identified by happiness, pain, attraction or repulsion. Emotions only suggest the existence of a reaction. They also indicate the nature or intensity of the reaction. They do not tell everything about its nature and intensity. Thus, emotions arise in response to an event or situation. If we look at some things related to emotions, then we will be able to understand the meaning of emotions easily.
Emotions include pleasure, pain, attraction, and repulsion. Emotions are dynamic, so it is normal to be happy at one moment and sad at another.
Emotions reflect the special significance of a thing, event, or situation.
Emotions are considered a complex experience involving mental states, physical sensations, and gestures. Emotions are related to some action or event that has happened in the past or is likely to happen in the future.
Merriam believes that emotions are the result of brain activities. Various parts of the brain such as the amygdala, hippocampus and prefrontal cortex play an important role in producing emotions. According to the research of Dr. Megan Anna, emotions are a complex combination of mental and physical states. They include everything from the euphoria of pleasure to sadness to the impulse of fear, including the shock of surprise and disgust. Emotions are not just momentary. They are powerful factors influencing our choices, actions and social interactions. They play a vital role in our health and well-being. The study of emotions, incorporating psychology and neuroscience reveals their complex functioning and impact on human behavior.
