People think that Osho was against society and religion. But this is not true. Osho was against superstitions and hypocrisy born in sects and so-called religions. Osho's aim was to expose the mental perversion that has arisen in society to fulfill vested interests and to present solutions for it. You will be surprised to know that Osho has strongly opposed religions but has praised religiosity. Years ago, his fellow professor's son had asked Osho the same question that why does he speak against religions, then he answered that religion is a singular number. Your society has made it plural. He said that he is always in favor of religion. His aim is to make a person religious. As soon as a person becomes religious, the clouds of ambition and ego automatically clear from his life. Only after this can a person have a pure and peaceful mind. His steps start moving towards creativity.
The so-called religious people whose livelihood was being affected by Osho's destructive sermons were not able to counter him through logic, so they started accusing him of insulting their gods and goddesses. These were the people from whose lives enthusiasm had vanished like the horns of a donkey. Their faces had become pale and empty. They had forgotten to differentiate between right and wrong. Their lives had become like those of a line follower. Their lives had become void of creativity and originality. The so-called experts had put it in the minds of the people that your present life is the result of the deeds of your previous lives. By feeding this formula to the people like a medicine, all the opportunities of development were snatched away from them. A belief spread in the society that your sufferings of the present life are due to the deeds of the previous life. This tonic of belief had implanted in the minds of people that their present life is the result of their deeds of previous lives. They remained as they were. Such obstacles were created on the path of transformation of life that no one could cross these obstacles.
