I also had a curiosity to find out the reasons behind the suffering. Even after reading different thinkers, I could not understand how to get rid of sorrow from life. I could not understand the root cause of sorrow. There is a saying popular in all parts of India that look inside you. Our vision goes everywhere except the collar. Osho says that the cause of sorrow is in our mind itself. If you try to find the cause of sorrow outside the mind, then understand that you have taken the wrong path. The cause of sorrow is within the mind. Therefore, if you even think of giving sorrow to others, you will become sad. If the thought of giving sorrow to others comes to your mind, then understand that we have sown the seeds of sorrow. Will others get sorrow from our thoughts or not? This is not certain, but we will definitely become sad. Osho even said through Buddha that if you are getting sorrow today, then this sorrow is the result of the seeds sown yesterday. If you want that sorrow should not enter your life, then do not sow the seeds of sorrow today.
Now I started to understand the root cause of suffering. I stopped giving space to such thoughts in my mind that aspire to make someone unhappy. The clouds of sadness started to move away from my life. I started to feel a sense of coolness in my mind.
Osho goes into the depth of the causes of suffering and tells us a formula to get rid of suffering. Osho says that if even a slight feeling of causing suffering to someone comes in your mind, then understand that you are sowing the seeds of suffering. The tree on which the fruits will grow from this seed will fall in our life only. The fruit is sure to fall in the life of the person in whose mind the seed is. If the mind is planning to harm someone in anger, then whether the target is harmed or not, the process of causing harm has already started in your life. Buddha even said that getting angry is the biggest stupidity of a human being. What kind of wisdom is it to punish oneself for the mistake of others? Getting angry and ready to kill because of someone else's abuse is a mental disease.
