I mustered up the courage and said -
"Sir, you have not read him. You have not heard him. I think it is not proper for an academician like you to form such an opinion about a person without reading or listening to him." These three lines of mine added fuel to the fire. He got very furious. He lost his temper. As if I had abused him.
"You will teach me what an educationist should do and what shouldn't. I have served longer than your age. He has nothing but hypnotism. I have even heard that even the cassettes of his sermons have hypnotism viruses. Anyone who listens to his cassettes once becomes his devotee. He will lead me astray from my religion. He seems to be a very dangerous man."
"Sir, if you had read a book, you would have known the truth. Those who have spread bad propaganda about Acharyaji, have also formed wrong notions without reading any of his books. My humble request is that you read any one of his books. Then if you find something wrong, do not read the other. I will make the book available. If you say so, I can also provide you with cassettes of his discourses-----."
I could not even finish my sentence before that he quickly got up from the chair and went inside the house mumbling. My friend was embarrassed. It felt as if someone had poured a bucket of water on him. He was scared by uncle's warning. I did not think it appropriate to say anything to him.
I also returned home after seeing the mental level of an educationist.
After that day that gentleman started to stay away from me. He would see me somewhere on the road and even if I greeted him, instead of replying he would walk away. My friend also kept his distance. He informed other classmates about his uncle's statements, so they too were not coming close to me due to the anger of their family members. Although they loved me, yet the fear of becoming a victim of the anger of family members had settled in their minds.
Such propaganda was going on against Osho in 1984-85.
No one was ready to read the book.
One told the second, the second told the third and this chain continued. I felt pity on the dull minds of well-educated people that how can they form such an opinion against a person without reading anything. Newspapers too were not behind in defaming Osho. They too kept publishing such articles which gave fuel to the propaganda. Many articles were written by such writers who had neither read Osho's book nor heard any of his discourse. Imagine that in such a toxic environment, we Osho lovers had to read Osho's book with the cover on. We were always afraid that someone might see us reading the book. Despite such adverse circumstances, we started getting influenced by Osho. No one was liking this colour.
Call it a coincidence that when I used to perform well in college exams, the team of opponents that had grown up out of no reason started to bow down under the burden of jealousy. They started to avoid targeting me. It had become a matter of curiosity for them that how do I pass exams with good marks despite reading literature outside the syllabus? Now, after becoming a senior citizen, I realized that all this was possible only because of Osho's compassion. I imbibed Osho's principle that whatever you do, do it consciously. By imbibing this principle, the path of progress became easier. The paths themselves started showing the way forward. Existence started cooperating. The mind was moving towards a peaceful state. There was no competition with anyone. Slowly, friendliness started spreading and the poison of ill-will started disappearing. A glimpse of the most beloved started appearing in every person. Trees and plants also started looking loving. The dream of enjoying the beauty of the moon and stars started coming true automatically with the feeling of friendliness. The morning which used to seem dull, now started feeling synonymous with celebration. With the compassion of Osho, the sunrise of transformation started happening in life.
Anyway. The process of peoples' sarcasm and the transformation of life continued parallelly.
We were talking about purification of feelings.
To be continued.......

Thought provoking and amezing
