A question arises again and again in my mind that when a great soul like Osho declares that bliss is the nature of every human being, then it becomes necessary to ponder over this declaration. In the sequence of contemplation, we can also understand it in this way that God sends a newborn child with centres of happiness and pleasure in his heart. As the age of the child increases, the centres of happiness and pleasure keep shrinking. A situation comes when the elements of anguish, sorrow, pain and worry enter in abundance and cover this centre given by God on the centre of happiness and pleasure fitted in the heart. As a result, this centre starts to decay. Due to our surroundings, this very important centre gradually disappears.
On this problem of most people, Osho, after reading the research books of world famous psychologists and from his own experience, concluded that the feelings of sorrow, pain and anguish have become so deeply rooted in the human mind that man has become accustomed to these feelings and is nourishing them by adding fertilizer and water to their roots. Whenever he sees a glimpse of happiness or pleasure, instead of becoming happy, he becomes restless. This glimpse does not seem real to him because the experience and understanding of happiness and pleasure has ended. There is a competition in the media also to show and print sad news.
We have also become accustomed to exaggerating the news of illness when we meet each other. Newspapers also avoid covering such news which brings pleasure to the mind. On the other hand, news of murder, rape, theft, loot graces the front pages. No one will pay attention to a beautiful rose blooming in someone's garden. We also read news of murder, rape and loot with great interest. What has happened? If there is a war going on somewhere in the world, such news is shown live. No one is concerned about the impact it will have on the public.
What I want to say is that when friends meet, they should talk about happiness. When family members sit together at the dinner table, they should try to create a happy atmosphere. They should tell each other funny stories. They should discuss the beauty and fragrance of flowers. It is inappropriate to discuss the thorns attached to the roses. Discussion on thorns will not leave a positive impact.
We want to search for happiness, but we are involved in such activities which invite worry, restlessness and sorrow. The feelings which we invite will enter our life. We know that this path is leading towards restlessness and sorrow, yet to continue on that path is a symbol of mental bankruptcy. For happiness and pleasure to enter our life, first of all those doors have to be closed from where restlessness, sorrow, sorrow and depression enter. That is why Osho had even said that man is a pessimist. He deliberately collects sorrows. If man was not a collector of sorrows, then heaven could have descended on earth. Life has become hellish due to man's pessimistic nature. If people were happy, then why would they give sorrow to others? It is a simple principle that whatever a person has, he can give that to others. And moreover, our own people give us more pain. If people have only the wealth of pain, then they will give pain only. If happiness and pleasure are not in their storehouse, then how can they share pleasure and happiness with others. In my opinion, if a person resolves to remain happy, then happiness can enter his life. When a person remains happy, a circle of happiness starts developing around him. Changes are felt in the environment as well. The atmosphere starts to change. Such a happy mind helps in purifying the emotions.
